Seeds for the Sol is seeking committed donors to help families lower their energy bills and at the same time lower emissions of our community! As energy prices continue to rise, many lower-income households struggle to afford basic heating, cooling, and water heating—while the home upgrades that could lower their bills often remain financially out of reach.
Seeds for the Sol (SFTS) helps remove those barriers through free Home Energy Assessments, innovative financing, and partnerships with local contractors. For many income-qualified households, upgrades can be completed at no cost through available incentives and support programs. At the heart of this work is our Bridge Fund—a revolving fund that advances payments to contractors while they wait for reimbursement from Energy Trust of Oregon. This allows projects to move forward faster and helps contractors serve more lower-income households.
Because the fund is replenished every 8–12 weeks, each dollar keeps working again and again. A $10,000 donation can support up to $40,000 in energy efficiency projects each year—creating lasting impact through a self-replenishing system.
To date, SFTS has supported over 1,000 households and helped reduce more than 800 tons of CO₂ emissions, with our impact accelerating significantly in recent years.
Your support helps families lower energy bills, improve home comfort and safety, and access a cleaner, more resilient future.
