Seeds for the Sol is a nonprofit that makes clean energy and home efficiency upgrades affordable and accessible—especially for households who might otherwise be left out.
We start with a free Home Energy Assessment to identify the most important improvements for your home. From there, we connect the public with financing and incentives that reduce or eliminate upfront costs. In many cases, income-qualified households can receive energy efficiency upgrades at no cost.
By removing financial and administrative barriers for both homeowners and contractors, Seeds for the Sol accelerates the volume of projects—lowering energy bills, improving comfort, and strengthening community resilience. To date, SFTS has supported over 1,000 households and reduced more than 800 tons of CO₂, with its cumulative impact accelerating significantly in recent years.
Seeds also support local contractors by removing financial and administrative barriers—creating jobs and strengthening the workforce in the renewable energy and energy efficiency sectors.
Seeds for the Sol envisions a community united in advancing energy efficiency, energy equity, and a vibrant local workforce, building climate resilience for the benefit of everyone.
Seeds for the Sol mission is to expand access and remove economic barriers to renewable energy and energy efficiency – particularly for underrepresented groups – while fostering local economic growth, job creation and energy resilience.
We currently work in 6 counties of the State of Oregon: Lane, Linn, Benton, Polk, Lincoln and Marion, yet our mission is not circumscribed to such territories. Seeds for the Sol will take every opportunity to expand its model to further reach other communities in need.
